| The Mustad Custom Hoof Knife has a high quality blade on a comfortable, ergonomically designed wooden handle. The top quality, tempered Swedish steel blade is dropped down to align with the handle for easier trimming for the sole. The narrow hook allows for easier trimming of the sides of the frog. Available in left and right versions. Approx. 8.75". Hoof knives should always be well-balanced and comfortable. The blade most times exits in line with the lower part of the handle - allowing utmost accuracy whilst trimming the sole. The hook has a smaller radius, making trimming easier between the frog and the bar, it also makes it easier to make smaller holes in the hoof when removing abscesses. Tip: Which is left and which is right? The left hand version curves to the left when viewed from the front with the blade on top, and the right curves to the right. We recommend trying out both, as most trimmers learn to use both hands while trimming. |
