Advanced Biological Concepts' Pro Bi Microbial is a biological feed additive. It is designed to maximize digestive efficiency.

Animals' beneficial intestinal bacteria can be destroyed or depleted, and the pH of their environment can be altered during times of stress. This stress can be caused by competitions, traveling, breeding, treatment with antibiotics, de-wormers, or other medications. Alterations of weather, environment, feed, water can also create stress.

Uses (Horse): Use before, during and after travel and competition. Take along with de-wormers, antibiotics and other drug therapies. Also use when there are changes to your horse's feed, water, and/or environment. Pro bi may be used at any sign of digestive disorders like diarrhea or colic. Suitable for use on newborn foals.

More information: Research has identified that there are two basic types of microorganisms. While the majority are beneficial (good bacteria), the others are pathogenic (bad bacteria). The key to health and the feeling of well-being is balance of good and bad bacteria. As long as the proper balance is maintained, the animal is healthy, grows at a good rate, and converts feedstuffs efficiently. If the balance is upset due to stress or other factors, then feed conversion and animal health can decline.

Pro Bi, in its final form, is not a source of live organisms. Though it does supply the by-products they produce. The active ingredients in Pro Bi retard the growth of 22 pathogenic organisms, and provide the benefits obtained from live cultures without the problems and concerns of using pure cultures.

Pro Bi functions by providing a "zone of inhibition" which prevents the growth and development of pathogens. This is provided by the Lactobacillus Acidophilus, which does not attack bad bacteria, instead it is a probiotic that competes for space, building a zone around itself once it is established.
