MYLER BITS HBT SHANK MB06
The Myler Bits HBT Shank MB06 has a wide low port that is comfortable for the horse as it allows room for his tongue and to swallow more easily. It has a length of round metal slightly curved back, with a flat-top purchase and a rein ring. The mouthpiece has a fixed attachment. The entire shank moves independently of the mouthpiece. The purchase is slightly angled away from the horse to avoid rubbing.
It is used in Western riding and has an indirect action which is designed to be used with a curb strap or chain.
The HBT is well suited to trail riding as the shorter shank makes grazing easier.

Stainless Steel 5" HBT Shank with Sweet Iron Mullen Barrel Low Port (MB 06, Level 2-3) Copper Inlay Mouth 5"
This mouthpiece is made of polished Sweet Iron which naturally oxidizes or rusts. Harmless to horses, it has a sweet taste and promotes salivation.
The MB06 is the Myler alternative to the traditional mullen mouthpiece. It has a wider low port that allows the tongue to pass under the bit with comfort. The port is just high enough to allow the tongue to elevate and swallow, but not high enough for palate pressure. The lower port does restrict the tongue more than other level 2-3 Myler mouthpieces. When the reins are engaged, the 06 applies pressure primarily to the bars and lips. This mouthpiece has Independent Side Movement.
A Myler Level Two-Three horse could:
Have basic training and a solid disposition and good self control
Be overly bold, timid, excitable or have a tendency to spook
Be training in a discipline that requires tongue relief tempered with precise control
Be training for Endurance, Barrel Racing, Jumping or similar disciplines
Be ridden in a Level Two bit and showing resistance
