Myler Bits Baucher Small MB02 The Myler Bits Baucher Small MB02 (2" ring) with the fixed top ring is one of the English bits that provide some pressure to the poll to encourage flexion. The rein is attached to the bigger of the two rings for direct rein action. This gives the rider more control over the mouthpiece and the horse than other snaffles. The smaller ring is attached to the bridle cheek piece and this fixed position exerts a bit more direct pressure on the poll than a regular snaffle.
The bars of the bit are curved so the bit wraps the bars and lips of the mouth instead of pinching them when it rotates on to the tongue. The curve makes more room for the tongue under the bit.
The Baucher is used for all English disciplines including jumping, eventing and dressage. It's considered a Myler Level 1, USDF Dressage Legal. Available in 5".
Stainless Steel Small Baucher Cheek with Stainless Steel Comfort Snaffle Wide Barrel (MB 02, Level 1) Copper Inlay Mouth.
The MB 02 mouthpiece is the Myler alternative to the traditional three-piece mouthpiece commonly used in snaffle bits.
When the reins are engaged the MB02 will rotate fully on to the tongue in order to apply the necessary tongue pressure to teach a horse to give to the bit or break at the poll.
The bars of the bit are curved so the bit wraps the bars and lips of the mouth instead of pinching them when it rotates on to the tongue.
The curve makes more room for the tongue under the bit.
The barrel distributes the pressure kindly on the tongue.
Cheek piece design: A simple "O" ring with a purchase and fixed attachment of the mouthpiece. The bridle attaches to the purchase which creates a fixed bridle. The reins have no fixed point of attachment and move freely on the ring.
The Myler Level One horse would:
Be young and inexperienced
Be just beginning training
Be riding in a discipline that restricts bits to snaffle with jointed mouthpiece
