What are the standard shipping rates?

Shipping Information


Our Standard shipping method is FedEx Ground as it is fast, reliable and reasonable, no matter where you live in the US. With the rising costs of fuel causing rate tables to increase at an alarming rate for customers, Action Rider Tack has moved away from using rate tables and now offers “Real Time” shipping rates. Based on your specific address, our system will go directly to the FedEx system and get the exact cost of shipping for you. This means that there is no “fluff” in the shipping price that you’re offered at the time of your transaction.

Additional Charges


Due to the size and/or weight of some products, an additional shipping and handling surcharge will apply as indicated in the product information. You will see this added surcharge in your shopping cart.

Bulk orders may incur additional shipping fees, you will be notified by our Customer Service Representative via email.

Shipping Time


If every item in your order is in stock, and you place your order before 12 noon PST, we will ship your order the same day.

Standard shipments typically take 3-7 business days to arrive, although if you live near our distribution center, it can take less than that. This time is an estimate and can vary with seasonality, weather and other factors. We also offer Overnight, Second Day and Express shipping through FedEx.

Holiday Shipping


During late November and December, FedEx experiences a surge in shipping. This can impact shipping times.

Please note that we offer Federal Express Overnight, 2nd Day Air and Express Saver options.

Please refer to the above U.S. Federal Express Ground map for standard ground transit times. During the busy holiday season please try to allow a couple of extra days for exceptions such as bad weather, etc.

Delivery


Please remember that standard shipments will be left at your doorstep* if you are not home. If you do not think that your package will be safe, please call us to upgrade your shipping method, or have the package shipped to an address where someone will be able to receive it.

We cannot be responsible for lost or stolen packages that have been marked as "delivered" when tracked via the delivery confirmation number.

*All saddle shipments require a signature and will NOT be left on your doorstep.

What are the Canada shipping rates?

Our standard shipping method to Canada is USPS as it is fast, reliable and reasonable – no matter where you live in Canada. The customer is responsible for all customs, duties and taxes.

What are the international rates?



International Shipping Information


Our standard international shipping method is USPS or Federal Express by air for all international shipments. If the rate for shipping differs from the rate shown at checkout, our customer service team will contact you via email to review the difference and obtain your approval for any increased costs.

The customer is responsible for all customs, duties, and taxes.

Can I have multiple shipping addresses?



If you need to send to multiple shipping addresses, then you will need to create an order for each address.



When will I receive my order?



Standard Shipping - If every item in your order is in stock, and you place your order before 12 noon PST, we will ship your order the same day.

Special Delivery Options – We offer Federal Express Overnight, 2nd Day Air and Express Saver.

Canadian Orders - Customers are responsible for all customs, duties and taxes. We cannot guarantee a fixed delivery time for Canadian orders, as delays in Canadian Customs are beyond our control.

Foreign Orders - All orders must be paid in U.S. funds by International Money Order, or with a verifiable credit card or Wire Transfer (please send an email to request wiring instructions).

Customers are responsible for all customs, duties and taxes.

Delivery times to overseas countries are influenced by Customs clearance. Delivery can be 2-6 weeks depending on the type of delivery you choose.

International Shipping Restrictions - Unfortunately, due to certain trademark, labeling, product content and government embargo restrictions, we are unable to ship all products to all countries. If your country is not in our drop down country box, please contact us to inquire if we can ship to you.

General Information - Orders that come in over weekends and holidays are processed the next business day. We will notify you if one of your items is not available and offer alternative suggestions. Please check your e-mail.

Requests for expedited shipping will be processed on the same day if the order is placed before 12 Noon PST (and all the product is in stock). Orders placed after 12 Noon will be processed on the following business day. For example, an order placed on Monday after 12 Noon would be processed on Tuesday and arrive Thursday if shipped FedEx Second Day.

Please note that all FedEx packages are shipped with no signature required. If you would like to require a signature on your FedEx package please call us toll free 877.865.2467 after you place your order. The signature required option is available for an additional $5.00. Please note that all saddles are shipped with a signature required.

Orders shipped via Express Saver, Second Day and Overnight are guaranteed, except under the following circumstances:

  • If a delivery attempt is made on the scheduled delivery day, but nobody is present to receive the package.
  • Delays due to bad weather or other reasons outside the control of FedEx.
  • If we notify you of an out of stock item and you do not respond in a timely manner.
  • Incorrect shipping address information entered when you placed your order. Redelivery of a package where you have given us incorrect shipping information or a partial address will result in a $10.00 redelivery fee.



Can I expedite a shipment?



We will always do our best to get your order to you when you need it. If you need your order by a specific date, please give our Customer Service Department a call toll free 877.865.2467. We offer Federal Express Second Day, Overnight and Express Saver delivery options.

Delivery times vary for overnight packages. Most overnight deliveries arrive the following day before 3:00pm, but they can arrive as late as 7:00pm. You will receive a tracking number via email on the evening that the package is shipped so you can follow the package’s progress.



Saddle demo to return. How do I do that?



It is important to us that you and your horses are very happy with your new saddle. In fact, we like to talk to everyone about their saddle and equipment choices prior to shipment and ask that you call one of our Action Rider Tack Specialists at our toll free number, 877.865.2467, to make your arrangements. This will allow us to answer any additional questions you may have about the demo program and our wonderful selection of saddles.

  • You have 10 days, commencing the day after delivery, to try out your saddle and equipment. (As tempting it may be, please do not ride in the rain or roll in the mud with your new equipment. However, please do ride and be sure that it is right for you and your horse!)
  • Call one of our Saddle Specialists at 877.865.2467 to ask any questions and let us know how your equipment is working.
  • If you and your horse love it, as most of our customers do, then GREAT! Enjoy your new saddle, Be One With Your Horse™ and we look forward to serving your horse needs again soon.
  • If there are any issues, we will try to resolve them over the phone. With your input, we can often work in conjunction with you to find a resolution that makes you and your horse happy. (Just take a moment to view our customer testimonials to see that we have your interests in mind.)
  • If you are not satisfied for any reason, please request a return authorization and return the saddle. Your purchase will be refunded minus a $49 demo/restocking fee and the cost of shipping.

As you can tell, we actually don't have "demo saddles". Why not? We used to have demo saddles, but people fell in love with them and didn't want to send them back! Our current demo program for horse saddles gives you the best case scenario - you're actually testing out YOUR saddle. AWESOME!

When you're looking for just the right bit for you and your horse, you may need to try several bits to determine the best one. As a Myler Bits Gold Star Dealer, our Myler Bits Rental Program allows you the convenience of renting a bit of your choice for a nominal fee.

If you would like our assistance, our Action Rider Tack Specialists are available at 877.865.2467. Once you select a bit to try, be patient with your horse. Take it slow and give your horse plenty of time to get used to the bit.

  • The rental on our Myler Bits is $3.00 per day commencing the day after delivery with a 3 day minimum and 10 day maximum trial period. All tags MUST be returned!
  • The Mylers advocate 5-10 rides when trying a new bit. If you've found success with a bit, then you can feel confident in your purchase.

How do I change my shipping address?



To edit an address, click on My Account. The details of your account are displayed. Click on the Edit button below the address that has to be changed.



When should I insure my package?



For your own peace of mind and protection against loss, we recommend that you insure your return package back to us. We also recommend that you send it using some kind of tracking method. We are not responsible for any package that does not make it back to us.



What if I won't be home when my package arrives?



You will be glad to hear that 99.9% of all packages that we send out make it safe and sound to their destinations. It is rare indeed that one fails to make it. Here are a few things that can help facilitate YOUR package's safe arrival:

  • If you are not going to be home at the time you anticipate your package will arrive, please consider changing the delivery address to one where someone can sign for the receipt of the package.
  • We are happy to oblige your delivery comments on your package - Leave by the Door, Leave at the Barn Entrance - and so on, however, we are not responsible if that packages goes astray before you get in your hands.

We will always try to re-send you an item that a Carrier has not delivered or that has been removed from an unsafe, unsecured delivery area. However, we will have to charge you for the new shipment and shipping, or expedited shipping charges. The Carrier will usually track down the item and we will happily refund the item if and when it eventually makes it back to us in good condition.



What is a default shipping address?



A default shipping address is your billing address. Please note that we cannot ship to a P.O. Box.



Where will my package ship from?



At the present time, most of our packages are shipped out of Medford, OR. Occasionally, we do have an item drop-shipped for you directly from a vendor, but this is rare.

Our staff at Action Rider Tack is personally responsible for the fulfillment of your order. We use quality boxes, including recycled boxes, new plastic bags and protective materials in the shipment of your order. We also include print materials that we feel would interest you.

Our carrier of choice is FedEx as our continued relationship and volume of business with FedEx helps to keep the shipping costs to you as low as possible. In addition, our customers have the additional assuredness of FedEx’s tracking and deliverability.

For orders received by 12:00pm PST (noon), your shipment will leave our warehouse that same day. All other order will be processed and shipped the very next business day.



How are shipping rates calculated?

Oversized or extremely heavy products may have a Freight surcharge applied to them.

Because we offer real-time shipping rates, many times we match or come a little below industry standards, which means our shipping charges are very competitive. Shipping charges do include handling, which takes into account packaging, invoices, labels and the like.



What about insurance?


To protect yourself against any loss, we recommend that you insure any package that you return to us.

What are Free Shipping Products?



Products indicated by Free Shipping are shipped free using our standard shipping to the 48 contiguous states. These are not calculated in the shipping charges during check out. International and Air shipped orders will be re-calculated back into the total order amount after order is placed.
